South Sound Athletics is a family owned and operated facility, founded by Marvin and Brian Johnson. Our facility is located on the campus formally known as Glacier High School in SeaTac, Washington.

Marvin discovered this location many years ago while Brian was playing soccer. The school was closed, but some of the buildings were being used by various businesses. Years went by and Brian started playing basketball, lots of basketball. In fact he ended up with a full ride scholarship to Seattle University, one accomplishment among many others. Meanwhile, Marvin was getting closer and closer to retirement. His dream was to someday own and operate a basketball facility where he could offer training and instruction for youth, just like his own. He wanted to better the lives of children, while improving there basketball abilities. Retirement came, and Marvin hadn't forgotten about Glacier. He found it was not being used at that time. With Brian just graduated, and Marvin newly retired, it was the perfect time to spring his plan into action.

December 7th 2003, Glacier gymnasium reopened, but with a different name. This time it would be known as, "South Sound Athletics". The gym received a complete makeover, fresh paint, new floor, weight room, and state of the art sound system. They were ready for business!
